Pig Roast March 5 2011

Makers Local is hosting a Tech Expo with accompanying Mardi Gras Pig Roast on Saturday, March 5th.  Members will be showing recent projects and demonstrating the technologies they use, as well as giving tours of the shop.  Some of the demonstrations include 3d printing, robotics, vacuum molding, rocketry, microcontrollers and more.  Mardi Gras treats will be delivered by the Makers new Candy Cannon!

The Tech Expo begins at 12, food will be served at the same time. Plates are $10, or two for $15.

The mad scientists of Makers Local 256 mandate you presence for a maelstrom of music, mayhem and merriment! Malcontent members of our mad house are hosting a malevolent masquerade of majestic proportions! 7pm 10/29/10

Bring yourself. Bring a costume. BYOB! (or not, you’ll still be allowed admittance)

Makers Local 256 will be hosting a Pig Roast on Saturday, Feb 20th at 1PM.  Plates of pork will be $10 each, or $15 for two.  The pig itself will be slow roasted on a custom welded automatic rotisserie, over a member constructed fire pit.  Along side a pot of jambalaya, members will be bringing potlock and picnic noms.  During the Pig Roast there will also be a Silent Auction, and an Open House where members of the community are encouraged to come check out the make shop, see our past and current projects, and find out more about getting involved in the collaborative DIY community.  To volunteer for this event, or for more details, visit:  The Pig Roast Wiki Page

Last weekened Makers Local 256 had a successful open house, which gave us the opportunity to show members of the community what we’re all about and have to offer. Members of IEEE’s Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) were in attendance, and have shared their experience at the open house online:

If you weren’t able to make the open house, don’t feel like you have to wait for the next one to check us out. Someone is in the shop almost every day after 6:30, and on Saturdays we get booming right after lunch. Come out and see what you missed!

Makers Local 256 will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, December 5th, 2009!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone, including the members of the local GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) chapter of the IEEE!

The Make Shop will feature a swap meet, and will be showing off completed and near-completion projects!

For those interested in helping to prepare for the Open House, we’ll be having a shop cleanup day on Friday, December 4th.
