We just signed the lease on the new space at 203 Brown St. today, and boy are we going to need some help moving. This weekend is not looking great for weather, but we’re going to get as much moved as we can. The goal is to get as much out of the old space as possible so we can spend the next couple of weeks making a valiant effort at erasing the evidence of our residence and get our deposit back.
We will have people at the old space at 3409 Governors Dr. Saturday morning by (latest) 10 AM. Probably earlier. After we take over the first load, we’ll leave at least one member in both locations and hopefully have a steady stream of vehicles going back and forth. It should go very quickly. We hope. This is not a time to arrange the shop; Saturday will be 1) Load it up, 2) Move it, and 3) dump it at the new place as fast as possible. There is plenty of cleaning and work to do on the new shop before it’s really ready for maker habitation. There will be a follow up post on this soon. Expect that for the next month or two, the group projects will probably be bootstrap projects for the shop.
For reference, the map below is the quickest route between the old and the new shops, but you can also go down Governors Dr. and hang a left on Seminole, right on Clinton, and finally a left on Brown.
