* 01/19/2008: Tanstaafl and Strages successfully built one.  Using a "dead" battery it lit up an LED as it should have.  Tested it again with a solar [[BEAMbots|beambot]] to see if it could be made to work indoors in lower light levels than direct sunlight, but to no avail. Proper measurements of it's efficiency still need to be done.  We have plenty more toroids with which to make them thanks to Tanstaafl.

Overview

A small circuit designed to boost the power coming from a battery to make every last bit of juice left in it useful to some degree.

Status

Built one!

Progress

  • 01/19/2008: Tanstaafl and Strages successfully built one. Using a "dead" battery it lit up an LED as it should have. Tested it again with a solar beambot to see if it could be made to work indoors in lower light levels than direct sunlight, but to no avail. Proper measurements of it's efficiency still need to be done. We have plenty more toroids with which to make them thanks to Tanstaafl.
