Saw the link above, looks like a safer, cheaper and easier option compared to using static of POV LED displays.  Talked further to [[User:Nykodemus|Nykodemus]] & fedaykin on the IRC channel.  They both mentioned that a color POV laser display has been built commercially:

If we can combine R,G & B lasers and project them onto one mirror similar to [http://www.spikenzielabs.com/SpikenzieLabs/Laser_Display.html this], and obtain the hardware cheaply, we might be able to have the safer, cheaper option.
