We need a place where we can go and work on these projects in an environment that stimulates creativity and motivation. The shop will provide a work area, resources, and knowledge to help people with their projects.

Brainstorm!

Possible means of obtaining said shop:

  1. Become a for-profit "professional" MakeShop. See: http://www.techshop.ws/
  2. Become non-profit organization and find projects that are a good source of income to pay for the shop.
  3. Start for-profit "cover" business (coffee shop?) that rents out a place, but only uses a small portion of it. The rest is used for the MakeShop.
    1. Coffee-serving robot

Once a more permanent place has been found, provide access to all members via rfids. Building access could then be all hours.

  1. Everyone would be a keyholder and responsible for building security.

Net accessible cameras would be setup inside and outside the shop to provide security and ability to see who's working before you head there. Lockers would be provided to members to have a secure place in shop to keep items. Open house nights would be setup to bring in possible new members.

  1. Volunteers would be available to ask questions and provide physical security for peoples projects etc.
