Overview

A universal laser tag system able to integrate any other laser tag systems past and present.

Ideas

one vest

This is essentially the backbone of the whole idea. The vest would contain multiple targets and a central microcontroller/computer capable of decoding the output of these targets along with a wireless solution for relaying data back to a central server. Software updates to the vest would allow for an increased set of decodes when needed.

ToDo

  • how are the targets constructed?
  • what are we using for wireless?
  • UID?
    • tracking player in an arena
    • tagging data being relayed back to the central server
  • how to control the gun's functions from the vest?
    • disabling the gun when shot
      • muzzle relay?
        • interfaces wirelessly with the vest
        • intercepts signals from the gun and relays out it's own emitter
          • relaying would be remotely shut off from the vest denoting your "death"
          • indicator light in the muzzle relay would indicate you're dead
    • managing ammo?
      • muzzle relay?
        • interfaces wirelessly with the vest
        • intercepts signals from the gun and relays out it's own emitter
          • relaying would be disabled when out of ammo amount set in the vest
          • indicator light in the muzzle relay would indicate you're out of ammo

decode station

A station where new data can be collected about laser tag sets so the vests can be updated before the game. Basically a field ready decoder similar to the one used to build the initial database of decodes.

ToDo

  • how are the targets constructed?
  • what data needs to be collected at this time?
