Calendar

• January 1 2010, 6:30pm - 9:00pm: Name of the event goes here

(keep this section if you want the event to be picked up by Brimstone's calendar parser)

1. Once you have chosen a date for your event, send out a Save-the-Date type email to makers-announce@lists.makerslocal.org .
2. A script will pull the date above and add it to both the calendar and the Events tab on the makers local website.
3. For event planning, add a reminder event to your personal calendar for at least 1 week and also 24 hours before the event to send out an email or facebook comment reminding people of the event.

• Facebook Event
  • Do not create the Event as the "Makers Local 256" page. Create the Event in "Friends and Members of Makers Local 256." Follow the next step, it is very important.
    • When creating a facebook event AS the makers group on facebook, on the very first pop up screen there will be an option to make the event public vs. only for the facebook group. It will not let you change the event to public after you've created it, so create with caution.
