Open House 11/15/08 - Noon to 4pm
We're having an Open House at our location at 3409 Governor's Drive. It's next to the Animal Vet Clinic and Sharp Communication. We will be working on projects as well as having a electronic swap meet.
We will have tables set up in the back yard and cars in the parking lot trading all kind of electronics. If you bring CRT's, we ask that you do not leave them behind. Inside we will be working on projects such as building a new photo-booth, multi touch computer screens, USB Authentication Door Access, and other fun projects.
Have an idea? Get involved and come build it with us. We're always looking for new involvement at the Shop, and things to showcase to the community!

About Makers Local 256
The MakeShop is a place where people can go and work on assorted projects in an environment that stimulates creativity and motivation. Distractions prevent people from completing or even starting new projects. The MakeShop will provide work area, resources, and knowledge to help people with their projects.
Makers Local 256 have been together as a group since 2006. We've had a physical Shop since March 2008.
Members of Makers Local 256 work on projects while at the building (the MakeShop). "Maker Projects" are not defined by strict boundaries, but can be generally described as technological, creative, accessible, open, and generally unorthodox.
Public presentations have been given, educating attendees on topics ranging from "printing your own t-shirt" to "a brief course on regular expressions in the Perl programming language". The public is encouraged to participate in a hands-on manner where applicable, and otherwise become directly involved with the exploration, modification, and creation of various forms of technology. Makers Local 256 feels this personal interaction with technology is both empowering, educational, inspirational, and a benefit to the community.
