Overview

This project will be a standing class held at the shop on some given schedule. It can be taught by anyone that knows how to program and/or does on a daily basis for work, fun, etc. It will be open to the public with the only limit being having enough space for everyone. You don't need to bring your own laptop/computer but it would be helpful since we are lacking the spares to have on hand for each. If we get a donation of old machines it might be neat to convert them to "classroom" computers for classes such as these.

The main idea for these classes will go right alongside the idea based around Code.org. More people should know how to program in any computer language. So these classes would probably start out with the simple projects found there at code.org then move up in complexity and with various languages. There will be different classes for different languages such as web programming with Javascript, or smartphone app programming with Android, or even writing multiplatform programs with Mono.

Making sure to offer the general public and the Huntsville community at large with a free resource to learning how to write computer software is the overall goal of this class.
