Zwave Controller
- Started with a Samsung Smarthub 2.0. Difficult to program.
- Currently using HomeSeer Hometroller ZS2
- When unplugging and plugging back in the HomeSeer, it once turned off the Z-Wave and HSServer plugins. Had to go back in and re-enable them.
Kitchen
- Z-Wave Motion Detector With Temperature Sensor (PID: 10796)
- Placed in Freezer so if the temperature got too low I'd get an email
Living Room
Lights
- HomePro ZDW120
- Ebay: Used, $20
- Learned that the pairing information is stored on the zwave device, and that the device must receive a leave-network command from a smart hub before it can be added to a new z-wave network.
- Add or remove to z-wave network by turning on and then off. Same to instruct it to leave the network, after the controller has issued the leave-network command
- Sometimes to add or remove devices, the HomeSeer has to be very close to the device. After it's added, it seems to receive commands no matter how far away the controller is in the house.
- HomePro ZDW100 (1 of 2)
- Ebay: Used, $20 each
- HomePro ZDW100 (2 of 2)
Remotes
- Aeon Minimote Remote Controller
- This does not work with homeseer out of the box, firmware has to be upgraded and steps followed:
- The source page for this was some guys private bulletin board, so I'm copying his article to the wiki
- http://67.217.100.102/showthread.php?p=1168034
- This is what finally worked:
- Update minimote to firmware 1.19 (it was the latest at the time)
- Reset miniremote:
- Hold "Associate" and "Learn" until the lights stop blinking.
- In PlugIns->z-wave->controller management: Actions: Add/Include a Node
- Press start in the HS screen
- Press the "learn" key on miniremote
- Wait while the info is transfered into the miniremote
- Wait some more until it is also 'synchronized'
- If HS reports it created a new remote device, it's done
- This does not work with homeseer out of the box, firmware has to be upgraded and steps followed:
In the events, you can pick "if this device had it's value set to" pick the newly added miniremote controller, pick "button 1 pressed" (or whatever).
Then do whatever you need in the event.
I used them to set various lighting devices to different levels.
