Rule

The space under the Project tables, table tops labeled "Not Storage", and the "Not Storage" Area may be used for active projects, however members may not use it for months at a time. Ideally, projects should be taken home when not actively being worked on. Projects in work should be tagged by their owners.

Definitions:

  • Date of last progress (DoLP): Active projects are not active just because someone tightened a bolt. Significant progress must be made on a project on a weekly basis that is easily identifiable by any layman. In some cases, this may be that the project was checked and is still drying or in a similar state; defer to the Facilities Director for contention on this type of issue.
  • Tag: This includes at least the DoLP and the name of the property owner. For items on tops of tables, this can be accomplished with whiteboard marker. For other items, it can be written on a piece of masking tape or paper securely taped to the object.

Directives:

  • Unlabeled project or property:
    • Owner and DoLP are known: This item may be tagged as such.
    • Owner is not known: Replace owner name with "tagged by" and name of tagging member.
    • DoLP is not known: Use 3 day backdate for DoLP.
  • Owners of incorrectly tagged items may correct the tag or make the situation known to the Facilities Director for possible remediation.
  • Tagged items are no longer eligible for Not Storage after:
    • One week has elapsed from the DoLP
    • The item has been at the shop for 1 month
  • Ineligible item handling:
    • Items where the owner is unknown will be moved to lost and found unless there is no space for them.
    • Items where the owner is known will be moved to their personal storage unless there is no space for them or that person doesn't have a space.
    • All other situations will be handled at the Facilities Director's discretion up to and including disposal if necessary. The Facilities Director will contact the owner 24 hours prior to disposal if possible.
