From the recycling bin, we have available PETE (Polyethylene terephthalate, plastic #1), HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene, plastic #2), LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene, plastic shopping bags, plastic #4), PP (Polypropylene #5) and PS (Polystyrene, plastic #6). From what I've observed, PS 6, LDPE 4 and PETE 1 are the most commonly available. From what I've researched on plastics recycling, HDPE 2 and LDPE 4 are the easiest to recycle as they use less additives compared to other plastics. It is recommended that differing plastic types not mix for recycling and should not be heated at temperatures beyond 220 °C (428 °F) to avoid pollution.
