My roommate is hard of hearing, and so often doesn't know if I'm home or not.
I'd like to have some visible means of notifying me and my roommate of each other's presence.
My plan is to use my unused OLPC XOs to drive 8x neopixel strips, where each neopixel fades out over the space of an hour, showing how long since the other roommate has been present.
