Overview
I have been inspired to experiment with stencil art. I have been using the Gimp to take an image, run it through a threshold filter to get the desired look. I then print it out and cut out the resulting stencils. I've been painting them at the Maker's shop. So far the backgrounds have been fun, but I am far too impatient to successfully stencil and must work on letting each layer dry before starting the next.

Stencil day #1
Tried four paintings, only one was worth sharing. Turns out rushing through multi-layer stencils results in terrible quality paintings. This picture shows a feeble attempt to recreate a sunburst pattern in the background.
