  • Survey for Members/Non-Members of MakersLocal: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/D7FNND8
    • Planning on collecting results 1 week from board meeting, unless there's a recommendation for more time. ~Omegix
  • International Space Development Conference (ISDC) 2011, in Huntsville's Von Braun Center, May 18-22.
    • The International Space Development Conference (ISDC, http://isdc.nss.org/2011/) for 2011 in Huntsville's Von Braun Center has asked us to assist them with a break room at their conference in May from Wednesday the 18th to Sunday the 22nd. In exchange, we will get a non-profit presentation table/booth for free.
    • This is a HUGE conference that attracts the international space community from big players and professionals in space exploration to space enthusiasts. It would be a great opportunity for Makers Local 256 to present themselves to a larger technical community and to a good majority of Huntsville technical talent.
    • However, ISDC has asked us to sign a formal contract with them (services in exchange for a presentation space). We must decide what we can provide to ISDC for the duration of the conference and write that into the contract. They are expecting a draft contract by 3/15/11 and a signed commitment by 4/1/11.
      • The current proposed contract is as so;
        • For the duration of ISDC 2011 in May from Wednesday the 18th to Sunday the 22nd:
          • Makers Local 256 provides to ISDC at no cost:
            • A computer or AV projector that can be hooked up to wifi or game console that is bright enough to be seen in a moderately-lit room.
            • X-box or equivalent game console.
            • Provide non-violent games or family friendly games along with associated hardware.
            • A Projection Screen.
            • OPTIONAL BONUS - Internet Cafe - Ensure the computers are secure.
          • ISDC Provides to Makers Local 256 at no cost:
            • A non-profit presentation table (6') or booth (10'x10') for free.
              • Original cost is $250 for a table and $300 for a booth.
              • No electricity provided to the presentation table/booth, we will need to pay extra for a hookup. <- Arrange with Yohan juice or no since we need it for the game room.
              • For convenience, we can get the presentation table by the break room.
            • Two Exhibitor Badges granting free access to the conference. We can share them amongst ourselves when we take breaks.
          • Times of the Conference:
            • May 18 - setup day
            • May 19-21 - 8 am to 6 pm
            • May 22 - 8 am - 12 pm
            • May 22 - after 12 pm, tear down
