Overview

I have been inspired to experiment with stencil art. I have been using the Gimp to take an image, run it through a threshold filter to get the desired look. I then print it out and then cut out stencils. I've been painting them at the Maker's shop. So far the backgrounds have been fun, but I am far too impatient to successfully stencil and must work on letting each layer dry before starting the next.

Techniques

Section to come soon. I will try and document some of the tricks I've tried, and how they've turned out. So far I've only tried to burn the shop down and it didn't work so well.

Completed works

Stencil day #1

Tried four paintings, only one was worth sharing. Turns out rushing through multi-layer stencils results in terrible quality paintings.
