Overview

Self contained voip system with the ability to act as an Asterisk server, if need be, and connects via wifi.

Outline

  1. Purchase a couple of payphones off eBay.
  2. Strip to bare minimum to cut down on weight while maintaining phone functions and external appearance.
  3. Purchase small(light weight) UPSs for power.
  4. Purchase openwrt capable APs.
  5. Purchase Iaxy2s.
    1. Load them with openwrt or equivalent and Asterisk.
  6. Wire internal phone components in payphone to rj-11 cable for connecting to internal Asterisk server via Iaxy2 or equivalent.
  7. Attach durable but comfortable straps to payphones.
  8. Take them to cons and enjoy.
