Overview
This is the event page for the Amateur Rocket Launch on 14 Jan 2012. Gtpyro will launch his rocket Safety Orange and anyone interested in rockets should come along for a day of things that go boom and things that go bang. If you have your own rocket that you would like to fly and you're a member of NAR or Tripoli, bring it!
Details
- When: 14 January 2012. We will leave from the shop at 8am and be back around dinner time
- Where: ~15 miles from Talladega, AL (Google Maps Link)
- How Much: FREE (just bring your own food and water)
- Why: Well.... Because ROCKETS!
Things To Bring
- Mandatory!
- Food and Water. We will be in a field for most of the day and nowhere near civilization so plan to be self sufficient.
- Lawn chair. I'll have one extra but not enough for everyone
- Hat and sunglasses.
- Warm Clothing. This goes without saying (or does it?). We will be out in an open field in January. It will be cold. It will be colder than you think. Dress warmer than you think you will need to.
- Optional
- Cash. There will be a vendor or two on site and if you want to buy stuff, this is the easiest way
- Ham radio
- Binoculars
