For the donation box, it would be neat to be able to plug your USB stick into it, have it auto-authenticate to the donation system and mark down that you dropped off your donation. Could be something fun for an improvement build after the main attractions are working :) Omegix 18:00, 28 November 2009 (CST)
- This single form of authentication bothers me. I suppose if it's only for setting the current month status to pending if it's currently at unpaid it would be alright. I'd still perform a user/pass or user/pass + usb key. --Brimstone 18:05, 28 November 2009 (CST)
- We could have the guts of a vending machine's money system in it. That way, we can authenticate and tally money that is being put in and print out or e-mail the tax-deductible donation receipt right there and then (especially useful for visitors). For checks, we'd have to do it the old way unless the system was an ATM (if that were so, credit cards would also be an option, but may not be necessary since we have online credit card and PayPal payment already). This would also help the treasurer out for counting donations.
Electronic Membership Application
System is a means to make applications more automated and smooth. Just beware that it may not be better than the current paper system we use (and it works well as is). Also, be mindful about the biding waiver in the membership application. Will an electronic version of it with an e-signature stand up in court just as well as a signed piece of paper? Will need to look up digital solutions to the requirement of a signed waiver.
