* The projector will stay on the media cart.
** I'd like to reduce time spent setting up and breaking down equipment.  The problem at the last shop was having to spend time searching for tools that were not getting put away where they were found, or being put up at all.  I think the further the tools are stored from the work table, the less likely they will get put back.  From experience we can tell that no amount of pleading will correct that.  I really like the idea of the cart for the heavier objects like oscilloscopes or an embedded development machine. When those tools are not in use they take up valuable real estate, even on a dedicated table.  However a cart would be crammed if we tried to fit soldering irons, flux, wire strippers, desoldering equipment, etc.  The best place for these tools is the table itself, in themed drawers or a breadboard pyramid under the table itself.  Strages talked me out of having a breadboard mounted to the back of the table, that would cut off an entire side of real estate for people to work at.  Components (as opposed to tools) such as microprocessors, LEDs, breadboards, etc I see being on the shelves, because they are not frequently accessed. --[[User:Omegix|Omegix]] 09:49, 19 May 2009 (CDT)

** Stairs probably should be built to code. Section 1009 of the IBC-2006[http://bulk.resource.org/codes.gov/al_building.pdf] states that this stairway is 36" wide, with each step no more then 7" tall and 11" deep. This translates out to roughly 13' out for 8' up. If this doesn't fit, then we're looking at also adding a 3' landing and turn, further extending the length of the stairway. --[[User:Brimstone|Brimstone]] 15:22, 18 May 2009 (CDT)

The good news is the items that we have to fix aren’t that hard or time consuming. Also they should be relatively cheap to do.
+
We have insurance at the previous rate. All is well.

+
As always if you have time or items that you can donate to bringing the shop to insurable condition they will be greatly appreciated.

Insurance Info

The meeting with the insurance agent 23 April 2009 didn’t go as well as planned. He doesn’t seem to share the same enthusiasm for the new shop as all of us do.

The insurance inspector came by on 5/15 and didn't seem to hate us, we're waiting to hear back.

We have insurance at the previous rate. All is well.
