Additional Info
- Location
- The Fab Lab will be expanded to accommodate the textiles area. A plan for how this will be accomplished will be set on Tuesday May 2nd, 2017 @ 6pm
- Topics to consider:
- Where will the existing inventory and tools in that area be moved to. Phil had a suggestion of moving the existing shelving unit alongside the car port and building work tables to hold the equipment and items.
- Is there electricity in this area for the textiles machines.
- Will the sawdust collection unit have to be modified.
- Will there be a second entrace? Can it be added later?
- Funding and Materials
- Jeff is fronting $300 of risk money and will ask for reimbursement at a later time.
- Lumber is currently being stored in the A/V area.
- Work Day(s)

- Shop tours? Field trips?
- The shop -- as a nonprofit with the stated goal of spreading the maker spirit -- should be an amazing place for school field trips. Currently I actively avoid them, because there's no way to guarantee that the kids don't encounter a drunk member in the shop. Fixing the problem then censors members in the name of making the shop kid-friendly, which it isn't.
- I think a solution to this dilemma would be to schedule field trips, and then alert the shop that there will be a dry day when no alcohol consumption or obscenity will be tolerated.
